Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a prominent distance education institution in India. Established in 1985, IGNOU aims to provide accessible, high-quality education to a diverse range of students, including those in remote and rural areas. IGNOU’s distance education system has been instrumental in bringing education to the masses, especially those who are unable to attend traditional classroom-based education due to various constraints. Here are some key points about IGNOU’s Distance Education Study Centers:

  1. Accessibility and Flexibility: IGNOU’s study centers are spread across the country, ensuring accessibility to students from various geographical locations. These centers provide flexibility in terms of study schedules, allowing students to balance education with work or other commitments.

The study center at our college was established in 2004 and around 1100 learners enrolled every year in different courses of study. It is an opportunity for the students to pursue any certificate, diploma, or degree programs of their own choice. This will help in building career opportunities in the future.
